Are you about to finish your education and will be looking for work but are unsure what you want to do? If so, why not take a look at the wide range of marketing jobs that are available. Whilst the work can be challenging, the rewards, both financial and personal, can be great.

There are many different types of marketing jobs available and the roles continually change as new technologies come into being. Long gone are the days when a marketing role simply consisted of talking to a few people and putting the occasional advertisement in a magazine.

These days, marketing people have to be on the ball with the latest developments, yet, at the same time, be aware which have value and which are no more than a flash in the pan. Especially during these difficult times, most companies are very careful about their marketing budget, not only wanting their marketing campaigns to be successful, but also to be done within a fixed, and often reduced, budget. This can make marketing jobs very challenging, but if you are the type of person that thrives on innovation and challenge, a job in marketing may be just the thing for you.

What Skills do you need to Work in Marketing?

Marketing jobs call for a wide variety of skills and you will be expected to have at least an overview of most of these. For example, you may not be a designer yourself, but you will be expected to know a good design that will attract people to purchase the product, or service, on sale.

Depending on the industry that you are working in, you may need to physically visit places to impress upon people, the value of the product or service that is being offered; therefore people skills play an important role in marketing jobs.

You will also need to have a good understanding of the role that the internet plays in marketing. The online world moves at an incredibly fast pace, and simply having a website is no longer sufficient. Interaction is needed with potential clients, so working in marketing means utilising the latest innovations, whilst not spending the budget on new innovations that have little or no value.

Perhaps one of the biggest requirements for working in marketing, however, is the ability to accept change. What works at this current time for a successful marketing campaign may be completely redundant in six months’ time. Whilst this can be very challenging, it is also what makes marketing jobs highly sought after.

University is the first major leap towards independence for many students. Suddenly you are swept into a world where you must rely on yourself for everything. No longer do you have the comforts and security of home that you have become so accustomed to over the years.

But do not fear – there is plenty of help available to guide you through this transitional phase. In your first year, staying in halls of residence helps you to learn to manage your bills as many universities charge one termly fee inclusive of all costs such as water, electricity and gas. The rent is normally restricted to term times only too which makes it easier to organise the rest of your finances.

Once you move out of halls and into independent living quarters, you are then responsible for a vast array of new bills. This is additional to the fact that you will be most likely living with 4 to 5 new people and will need to organise how to split bills and responsibilities. Independent living sees the bills come separately to the rent therefore you must ensure you allocate enough money to pay ALL of these each month.

Below I have explored 4 other ways to ensure that you can save money whilst at university ensuring a comfortable and stress-free student life.

1. Once you leave home, you will have to organise your own transport to get you to and from university and similarly to and from home. The easiest and cheapest method to conquer this problem is to make use of a bicycle. By living in nearby accommodation, your journey to lectures each day need not cost a penny. Just ensure you bring a good padlock to secure your bike.

To travel home, for example on a weekend or during university holidays, there are many discounted tickets for trains. Investing in a ‘young person’s railcard’ can make a huge difference to the expense of travelling.

2. Time management is a useful method of cutting living costs to a minimum. With the cost of living on the rise, it is imperative that you aim to negotiate a way to keep costs down. One easy yet very effective method to keep bills to a minimum is by trying to organise some sort of routine so that you put the central heating on only when you are all most likely to be home, or combining wash loads or cooking tea for everyone, once each day. This is as opposed to each person cooking separately and potentially using 4 or 5 times as much gas or having 3 half full loads of washing each day.

3. Shop on a voucher. Shop around and find places that offer student discount or have promotions on. Combine your weekly shopping with your housemates so that you can save by buying in bulk. There are lots of offers on software for students online. These offer discounts on essential software packages for your studies at heavily discounted prices.

4. It all boils down to budgeting and planning your finances in advance of spending. If you take out all of your known bills and expenses for the term from your budget and then divide what is left by the number of weeks in the term, you will have a visual understanding of what you can comfortably spend each week. Perhaps allocate some of this to an ‘emergency’ fund, just for safe keeping. By knowing your finances inside out, you are better equipped to deal with any unexpected financial costs that may arise.

University is an excellent way to learn to be financially and emotionally independent. Of all the costs associated, perhaps the most expensive variable is the software. You need this to be able to perform your studies to your best ability so make sure that you look online to find software for pupils that is specifically discounted to enable students and teachers the freedom to purchase the best products on the market

If you’re still feeling a few doubts and concerns about the greater world of online education don’t worry — you’re actually in pretty good company. A lot of people worry that the education they’re going to review online isn’t going to compare to the education they can receive at a regular university. However, is that really the case?

You see, the online education industry started out with a few bugs and snags, but isn’t that the case with just about every new thing that comes out there? There’s a time period where all of the glitches have to be worked out and it becomes a mature product over time. That’s the case with the online education industry from corner to corner. Sure, there are schools that don’t measure up. However, the rise of the internet has made it easy to identify those schools and avoid putting your money there. There’s also a big community online that will support you as you really start looking into the type of school that you really want to attend. It’s going to dewpond on your major, your budget, and what type of career you want to build. Many employers accept online degrees and treat them equally. This is because accreditation standards fro online college and universities can be just as high as traditional schools, if not more so. It’s not unheard for an online university to be judged harder because they are indeed completely online.

The reality here is that the online education world is not only here to stay, but it’s expected to grow even bigger only the next few years. This is because people overlook one of the top benefits that these online colleges bring to the table — they allow people to get their education from anywhere. We’re no longer a society of people that stay in the same place. Would you really want to have to give up during half the semester just because you suddenly had to move? Even if you had to pack your bags and move tomorrow, you can still complete your coursework online. This is very good for military families that know that they’re going to have to move around. It means that there’s no more worry or concern about having to go out and get another college and start the process all over again. Once you’re enrolled, you can stay enrolled and keep taking your classes. All you really need is a good laptop and the desire to stick it out with your class.

Yes, the very nature of online education means that you’re going to be working hard, but this shouldn’t be a problem either. As long as you’re really willing to work hard, you’ll do well in the world of online education.

Now, think about this logically — isn’t that the same advice that people give about traditional schooling? Makes you think, huh? Chances are good that you’re very much cut out for the world of online education, so don’t sweat it — check out a good list of online colleges and universities today!

As one of the world’s leading languages, more and more people are studying English and for a variety of reasons. One of the first things beginners learn is the present simple tense. This is the simplest tense and it serves as the base for the tenses that learners will encounter as they continue in their studies. However, it is not the only present tense.

The present continuous is another way to talk about the same language area. There are just a few basic differences between the two tenses that trouble most learners.

Present Simple

The form of the present simple is not so different from the infinitive form. In fact, it only changes for the third person singular. With he, she, or it, an -s or -es is added to the base form of the verb. For example, lives or goes. There are few irregular verbs in the present simple. The present simple is commonly used in two cases. The first is to describe daily events and routines or habits. For example: She wakes up at 6 am every day.

The second case is a little tougher to learn. The present simple is used to describe emotions, opinions, and states. These verbs are just referred to as state verbs and can only be used in the present simple, not the present continuous. Some common state verbs are: like, believe, love, understand, want, remember, be, and know.

Present Continuous

The present continuous is formed by taking the present simple form of the verb to be and adding a present participle. For example: am, is, or are walking. The first is to describe what is happening right now. For example: You are reading.

The second case is to describe things that are temporary and happening around the moment of speaking, but not at the exact same time. For example: He is looking for a job. This situation is not permanent and it is happening around the present time.

These are the most common uses of the present simple and present continuous tenses and learning these simple rules will ease any confusion beginners have about the present tenses. Learners will come to know the subtleties of the tenses as they are exposed to more of the language.

Ultimately, it is the parents’ decision whether or not a child is going to be homeschooled. This is the point that you must get across to the child. That being said, it is then time to deal with the child’s feelings on this subject. As with any type of schooling scenario, addressing the child’s emotions is important if the educational experience is going to be a fruitful one. After all, children who are content are certainly going to learn more than children who are not fully invested in the learning experience.

Present a Unified Front

Both parents in a two-parent family must present a unified front and back each other up in decisions relating to the homeschooling experience. If a child sees a chip in the armor, then he is going to use it to his advantage. He will continue to moan and groan about his dislike of homeschooling. As long as he believes there is a possibility that one of his parents might be approachable on this topic, he will not resign himself to his situation. Therefore, his school lessons will suffer and learning will be less than optimal.

Reinforce Your Love

During this difficult time, it is also important for the parents to present continual reminders that they love their child. It isn’t necessary to try and bribe a child with monetary rewards or gifts such as electronics either. Parents should express their love through their words, including showing an interest in the activities that the child enjoys.

Provide Interesting Lessons and Educational Opportunities

If parents have been homeschooling for a while or even if they are just starting out, parents can look for interesting lessons that will intrigue their children. Field trips arts and craft activities, films and computer games can all be used to switch things up and add a unique twist to any lesson plan.

Take Advantage of Public School Opportunities Opened up to Homeschooled Children

Despite the fact that you might believe that homeschooling will provide a better or safer educational experience for your child, you might want to consider some of the opportunities that public schools provide for homeschooled children. Contact your local school district and inquire as to what these opportunities are. Allow your child to join or attend those that interest him. Not only will this provide your child with the social interaction that he craves, but it will also provide him with the proof he needs that you do care about his feelings and interests.

Take Advantage of Opportunities with other Homeschooled Children

Many communities have their own community-based groups for families of homeschooled children. Do the research and make a connection with other homeschooling families in your area. Share ideas on how to motivate children who are homeschooled as well as join in on activities that these groups arrange.

Homeschooling isn’t for everyone. However, if you have decided that it is the educational experience that you want for your child, the above tips can certainly help you convince your child that it is good for him.

If there’s one part of academic life that people hate, it would have to be taking tests. Of course, some argue that essays are a lot more irritating than taking tests, but it’s really a toss up. If you’re good at essays but not at taking tests, then you might find that you really need more help than people imagine for you to really excel at the test taking process.

Thankfully, there are a few points that you might want to keep in mind when you’re thinking about trying to take your next set of tests without stress.

First and foremost, preparation is key. A lot of the stress that comes from taking tests comes from the fact that you really haven’t taken the time to study. If you aren’t sure about the material, then it’s always a good idea to really start as early as you can in order to do well on the test. You can get help from the tutoring center in the library, or you can find a private tutor. Your teacher will be able to help you as well, so you shouldn’t rule that out either. The teacher will be more than happy to help you with anything that they can, as long as you’re really willing to learn as much as you can during the study session. If you don’t take it seriously, then it’s going to be difficult for anyone trying to help you to take you seriously as well.

Note taking during the actual class lessons can help you retain more information. It might seem silly to take notes when you might already know the section well, but you would be surprised what you can forget when you go back to actually study the material. It’s not just enough to read things once or twice — you might have to go across a section multiple time sin order to really figure things out.

If there’s something that you don’t understand, it can be helpful to actually do some of the exercises in the textbook until you really know what’s going on. Otherwise you’ll just end up getting frustrated because you can’t apply what you learned in class to any practical applications.

Overall, it is possible to take tests without getting stressed out. You just need to try to come in with as much information as possible, and you will eventually conquer the test for good!

Do real educational grants really exist? Well, if you asked people right after they checked their spam folder chances are good that they would tell you no, grants are just a scam and a pipe dream of far too many people. Thankfully, we don’t really take this negative view at all. It is possible to get educational grants, but they are a bit more complicated than you might imagine.

You see, the grant system has a definite process. You must have a proposal in place. If it’s an individual grant, then you will need to explain what you will use the money for, as well as what you will study if the money is accepted. You don’t want to be vague at this point. A lot of people think about going to for example law college, but very few are actually strategic about going to college. You need to make sure that you pick a major that’s actually in demand. While the classic adage is “Follow your passing and the money will follow”, the reality is that this isn’t as true as it should be. It’s better to make sure that you really think about the type of life that you want to ultimately lead in college. This will point you to the right grants over time.

If you’re already in school, you might want to hit up the school library as well as the financial aid office. There are directories of actual government grants out there, and these two locations will have them available to you for free. There’s no real reason to pay money to get a directory, unless you just want the convenience of looking at the database from a different angle.

You might need to hire a grant writer for some of the more competitive grants, because it’s really all about trying to get things off the ground as thoroughly as possible. Grant writers already know the government system well, and they can help you shape a proposal, or even create a new one from scratch. However, if you’re just starting out, you might be better off reading up on grant writing and doing it yourself.

As mentioned before, it’s really all about having a clear focus on what you ultimately want to achieve while in college. If you have a definite plan, this will show in your proposal. However, if you are too vague, you will be overlooked in favor of applicants that have already demonstrated that they have a plan and they are willing to commit to it. The reason why a lot of people are leery to chase educational grants is that they don’t think “real” people will qualify for them, but this isn’t the case at all. There are a lot of unused grant funds because no one bothered to apply. Don’t make that mistake — it’s better to apply and know where you stand than to not take the opportunity at all.

Overall, the time to look for educational grants is today — what will you land with your upcoming proposal? There’s only one way to find out!

It’s simple: they don’t really know how to get started, and they certainly don’t think they will be able to get anything done. When you’re trying to use the Internet to your advantage, there’s a system and a method to getting things done in a big way.

So you will just need to make sure that you follow the steps to getting the Internet on your side for the cause of your choice.

First and foremost, you will need to make sure that you have your purpose front and center. If you’re not sure what type of purpose you have, then you will definitely want to take your time in really fleshing it out. This is one of the first mistakes that college students make, but it’s not one that you will have to play into if you’re looking ahead.

If you’re working with a team, then you will want to make sure that your team’s core problem is outlined in the most professional way possible. This is not the time to think about how the problem makes you or your team feel. It’s more important to appear as neutral as possible. Whether you like it or not, people are going to look at you in a different light because you’re young college students. Now, this might be wrong, but the truth is that people don’t really care about right and wrong. They care about getting things done.

So when you’re trying to use the Internet to your advantage, you will want to skip over the pity party and start talking about solutions. If it’s something that requires people to send you money, you will need to make sure that everything looks as professional as possible. Deep in the back of someone’s mind is the fear that you’re lying and this is really a sophisticated way to get more money for pizza and beer.

If you can get an older adult on your side, this can lead to getting extra credibility. They can go to bat for you and let the world know that this is a serious effort on your part.

Since you’re going to be online anyway, you might not realize that you will also be able to get online people to join in your efforts. This is why having a professional message and mission statement is so important. You want to get people excited about jumping onto your cause.

The best way to go isn’t just to build a website and let it sit in space. You will need to make sure that you are actually going out of your way to get the word out. The Internet is a social world — don’t just settle for one website, when you can build a presence on so many others. You can go on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, and even Flickr to draw attention to your cause. With so many ways to get the word out, there’s no doubt that you can definitely use the Internet to your advantage!

When parents decide to go to school, this can be considered a big commitment, as there are a lot of other responsibilities to take care of, such as raising the kids, paying the house bills, and many other tasks that no one else can achieve beside the parents. Single parents in this respect are the most caught in the household matters, and many of them are not willing to continue their education precisely for this purpose.

But deciding to go to school is indeed a great experience and a life time change. This decision will attract also the decision of paying for the school. As a single parent this can be considered a great burden, as you lack the money to study and as such you should find ways to sponsorship your education. You could opt for taking out a student loan, but you should search as well for obtaining a scholarship.

There have been several cuts in the budget related to education system, and scholarships are among these cuts, but still you need to make sure that you find the funding to pay for your college classes. The following tips will help you into getting a scholarship as they are intended to increase your odds in this matter.

* Make sure that you take into account every possible source that can award scholarships. This means that you should browse the internet for government scholarships, private scholarships and public college scholarship. The more of these ones you look for, the more chances you will have into discovering the one that you need.

* Fill out correctly the scholarship application. After you have found some of these that fit your profile and your needs, you should ensure that you fill out the application in a correct manner. You wouldn’t like to apply for a scholarship with missing out some useful information. The application will be rejected sooner that you expect. Yom could be asked to deliver some extra information as well.

* Do send out a mass of such scholarship applications. It happens so that you can apply for as many scholarships that you find available. The chances can increase once you send out many of such application forms.

Along with your parent scholarship search you could come across various sites that are scamming people in order to get some profit from their un-knowledge. For instance, you could be asked for money by a site that promises you a scholarship; well, don’t go for it, as this one is definitely a scam, since the real scholarship application process will never ask anyone for money when applying.

To pay for college education is a difficult task nowadays with the tuitions that every year seem to rise, not to mention that the incomes are kept the same, but lucky you that there is solution, sponsoring your college education with scholarship money. Students and parents can use these possibilities to cover the costs necessary to the higher education.

There are costs that reach amounts of $30,000 according to College Board review, although with the public 4 year universities, the costs reaching $6,500 per year, but it is still an amount of money that is calculated on average, and when you don’t have it then you can not attend college classes.

Maybe you would think that since you haven’t excelled in any of the school’s matters, be it sports or arts or science field, there can not be a scholarship for you, but this is not the case. Even if your grades weren’t outstanding, there are still good chances for you to find a scholarship to qualify for.

This is because not all the scholarships are designed the same, as you can find organizations to grant scholarships in case you have been involved in the volunteer activities. Other scholarships can come as a reward for those who have worked as a caddy in the local golf course and still managed to get good grades at school.

There are some odd scholarships available, such as the Klingon Language Institute that through their scholarships encourage students to study more languages, the Zolp scholarship given by Loyola University in Chicago , for instance, is based in the last name of the student who are Catholics. Other scholarships are awarded to left handed students, as well.

There are many scholarships offered out there that are not based on athletic or academic merits, but these ones do not pay that much. Some may offer enough money in order for the student to be able to cover the expenses on boarding and room. But apart from this, students should know that there is however a good news, that they can apply for as many scholarships they find available and they are willing to submit their application.

Different sources can be approached in order to help you get some relief regarding the burden of paying for attending the college. There is another aspect that makes the scholarships agreeable – they are not supposed to be paid back upon the graduation time, when compared to the student loans. Another aspect you should ponder is that plenty of scholarships are passed for the next year as they haven’t been awarded in their totality to the students.
